Portland United Church is a welcoming, active faith community in Saint John’s North End. We are a congregation grounded in worship, service, and connection, and there is always room for new faces and new voices among us.

Sunday morning worship is at the heart of our life together. Our services follow a traditional format with thoughtful, contemporary preaching and joyful hymn singing. We gather each Sunday at 11:00 a.m., with Coffee Time at 10:30 a.m. — a relaxed chance to connect before worship. Our building is fully accessible, with ample parking to make your visit easy and comfortable.

Throughout the week, our church is alive with activity. A variety of groups meet during weekdays and evenings, including our church choir, handbell choir and three community choirs that bring people together through music and shared creativity.

Our commitment to our neighbours is reflected in how we use our space and resources. Our property includes two affordable apartment buildings, and we are currently planning an additional housing development as part of our ongoing response to community needs.

Portland United Church is supported by a dedicated staff team, including a minister, music director, office administrator, and custodian, with financial administration provided by a bookkeeper. Our life and ministry are guided by a Church Council elected at our Annual Congregational Meeting.
